Elena Amo

Some way and somehow, between dreaming of becoming a ballerina in Russia, getting my Interior Design degree in Canada, and eventually moving to the United States, I found myself becoming a surface pattern designer.

So hi, I’m Elena, an illustrator and surface pattern designer currently based in Houston, Texas.

I love creating playful and fun animals and little creatures, each with their own personality and always with an extra dose of cuteness. That’s my superpower. I also love playing with color and finding color combinations that make everything feel a little more joyful.

I work from my home studio, usually with one or two cats keeping me company at my desk. So perhaps it’s not surprising that animals and little creatures keep finding their way into my designs.

At the heart of my work is a very simple idea. I just want to bring a little more cuteness, fun, and joy into everyday life. If something I create can make you smile and think, “Oh, that’s cute!”, that’s more than enough for me.
